Jarryd Hayne has returned home to Australia to undertake an intense training regime, in a bid to prepare himself for the NFL pre-season.

Hayne took some time out in Bali, before returning to a fitness schedule which saw him complete three sessions in less than 24 hours.

It is believed that Hayne will sign with the Detroit Lions upon the resolution of his visa complications, and that he will be returning to America in four weeks time to continue his Stateside training. Under NFL guidelines, the former Blues star is not permitted to train at the Lions’ facilities until April.

The big question on the lips of keen onlookers of the saga is not so much ‘will he make it’, but rather ‘will he make it as an NFL running back’, the position Hayne is expected to play. Fans and critics alike remain divided, but former Australian NFL great Colin Scotts had some cut and dry advice for Hayne:

‘If I was Jarryd I would be walking around with the ball under his arm and letting his family surprisingly try and knock it out’.

‘If you fumble the ball as a running back your career is pretty much gone, because they don’t accept it.’

Will Jarryd Hayne make it big in the NFL? Or will he return to the NRL to continue what has already been an illustrious career? Perhaps he’ll turn to a rival code? We want to know what you think!
